Lose Weight
Physical activity and lose weight has a number of health benefits, including reduced risk of cardiovascular disease, stroke and type II diabetes. It also contributes to increased mobility, weight loss, improved self-confidence and well-being. But for many of us it’s not always easy to find time to exercise every day.
To get the health benefits of physical activity one must make sure that the heart rate is raised above normal, such as a brisk walk or cycling. Here are some suggestions on how you can get more physical activity into everyday life.
Begin walking
Fast walking is one of the easiest ways to get some daily exercise. Go for example, make a round around the block at lunch break, take the dog for a walk or go with the kids to school. A good goal is to try to walk about 10,000 steps per day. To get a better idea of how many steps you walk, you can use a pedometer.
Take the stairs
You would be surprised how many steps you can take during a typical day. To start using stairs instead of taking the elevator can help you burn more calories and strengthen leg muscles.
Replace the couch for an exercise bike
Instead of going to the gym, you can place an exercise bike in front of the TV. To bike while watching your favorite program is a simple way to get 20-30 minutes of exercise. If you’d rather run, it works equally well with a treadmill.
Park a short distance away
When you take your car somewhere, leave it further away than usual and walk the rest of the way. For example, to shop, select the parking lot farthest away from the deal. Then you will also benefit from carrying goods when you go back to the car.
Playing with the kids
Playing football, bike or jump on the trampoline. Being active with your children helps to keep the entire family in great shape.
Dancing
Dancing whether it is at any club or at home alone, it is fun and a great form of daily exercise. If you do something that you think is fun, it is much easier to stay motivated and continue. Dancing for 15 minutes at moderate intensity pace burns about 100 calories.
