Workout gear
If you’re working out on the go, you really don’t need any type of equipment. If we’re completely honest, you can just use a YouTube channel, and call it a day. However, taking workout gear with you is a great way to elevate your training, no matter where you are. The issue, however, is that you don’t want to take up too much space in your bag or suitcase, nor do you want them to be too heavy.
Below, we’ve listed the best equipment to have while exercising on the go. These will differ from what type of exercises you prefer, and how you like to travel. Let’s see if we can inspire you with these workout gear.
Resistance Bands
Our love for resistance bands encompasses our lives. You might think we’re dramatic – but they’re really the best equipment to have, traveling or not. They’re affordable, lightweight, take up no room in suitcases and add something special to your workouts.
Even while you’re exercising in hotel rooms, they’ll come in handy. You can grab a band from anywhere – just search it into a search engine. We recommend the Fit Simplify bands.
Agility Ladder
No, they’re not actual ladders. They are flat and foldable, making it perfect for traveling. You channel your inner athlete and improve your agility skill. Training on an agility ladder is actually enjoyable. It also targets the lower body – if this something that you’re aiming to do.
Sliders
Of course, these can be “slid” into your suitcase with no problem. Sorry about the pun. They might be the most underrated piece of equipment, and can completely change your workout.
You can use them no matter where you are – hardwood or carpeted floors. This is perfect for hotels, hostels and everything in between.
A yoga mat
The thing is with yoga mats, they’re not just for yoga. You can use them for various exercises, especially in situations where you need to look after your back. For example, they’re great for situps, and planks.
Roll up your yoga mat and put it into your suitcase. You won’t regret it.
Your mobile phone
Yes, this might be cheating a little bit – but it’s a great way to actually get your exercise in. Download a few apps, watch a few videos – having a minicomputer in your travel bag could be the best workout gear.
The reason we mention this one is to eliminate excuses. If you have your phone, you have a way to count miles that you run, watch a yoga video, or fit a 5-minute ab workout in.
These pieces of equipment should all be packed away with you, given that you actually want to and will work out while away. None of these pieces will take up too much room and will give you a chance to have a gym away from the gym.
