Despite the intimidating name, the diet of pregnant women does not involve drastic restrictions in food and especially any starvation. Instead, a woman in this position has to eat 4-5 times per day, but in small portions. Preference should be given to products with a high protein content, as well as greens, fruits and vegetables. Meals have to be varied so that the body of the future mother has plenty of nutrients.

Pending toddler women should limit consumption of starchy foods, oily, spicy and overcooked. Should not be used in food products with a large number of preservatives and colorants.

After twenty weeks of pregnancy in order to avoid edema is recommended to drink no more than 1.5 liters of fluid per day.

It should be noted that in the diet of a pregnant woman, the meat must necessarily be present, even if the expectant mother is vegetarian. Otherwise, it is necessary to take special supplements.

For a normal pregnancy for breakfast, lunch and dinner should be accounted for 30%, 40% and 10% of calories consumed per day, and lunch and afternoon tea – 10% of calories. Dining pregnant woman needs two hours before sleep, and breakfast should take place no later than one hour after awakening. This is important as diet affects not only women on the digestion, but also on the development of her unborn child.

Protein diet for pregnant women

For some pregnant women who gain weight rapidly, doctors advise to stick to a protein diet – you enter into your diet more foods containing protein. Certainly, too, is about carbohydrates. But not worth the trouble to exclude from your diet, you should only reduce their number in their food.

In addition, when following a protein diet, its best to abandon or minimize the consumption of chocolate, confectionery and bakery products, fatty foods, condensed milk, sweet fruit, hard boiled eggs. Also don’t forget the refined sugar.

Many women during pregnancy suffer from a phenomenon known as edema. This happens for various reasons, but the most common – an accumulation of fluid in the body due to the large amount of salt intake. Moreover, if the expectant mother begins to drink less liquid, the situation is still not safe. So here it is necessary to limit the use of salt in food products and the most salt, of course.

Many women have heard about the dangers of gaining extra pounds during pregnancy. Excess weight in the “interesting situation” can lead to the development of toxemia in late pregnancy, and premature aging of the placenta, the occurrence of fetal hypoxia. In addition, the birth itself may begin at a much later period.

 

For weight loss in the daily diet of a pregnant woman should go about 100 grams of protein, and about 80 g of animal origin; 90 grams of fat, of which 20 g – vegetable carbohydrates can be consumed in an amount of not more than 400 g per day. Pregnant women also need to limit the intake of salt – a day not more than 6 gram.

Of particular note, all changes in the diet of a pregnant woman should discuss with her doctor, the initiative in this matter may cause irreparable harm not only to her health, but also endanger the life of her unborn child.
