To start, you need to avoid fried, pureed or oily items as they can increase your blood sugar levels. Instead, pick food items that can act as a healthy substitutes such as low-fat dairy, meat substitutes, green vegetables and fruits.

Although diabetes cannot always be completely cured, it can be brought under control. In order to maintain a healthy diet, it is essential to moderate your food intake and do regular exercise.  A diabetic diet is a balanced diet featuring fresh fruits, vegetables, fats, proteins and most dairy products.

Other type of foods you should eat are fibrous as they can also reduce your weight considerably and help you reduce the sugar levels in turn. Some examples of fibrous foods are oat bran, beans, rice bran, and cereals and so on. Garlic helps keep diabetes at bay. It is rich in potassium, zinc and sulphur and helps reduce blood-sugar levels.

As mentioned above, you should avoid fried, pureed or oily items as they can increase your blood sugar levels. Also, you should avoid salty foods, as they too increase your sugar levels. The salt you are getting from vegetables or other natural foods may be enough for you.
